DraftKings partners up with Amazon to sponsor Thursday Night Football
The betting company has been chosen as the primary sponsor for all of Amazon’s 15 NFL matches on Prime Video this season. DraftKings is an American daily fantasy sports contest and betting company. They offer Draftkings Sportsbook, where you can bet on different games, including college football. Their content will feature in all 15 Thursday Night Football games during the 2022 NFL season as they have signed a new multi-year deal with Amazon. To add, DraftKings will also offer TNF-themed content through its sportsbook app, including same-game parlays.
The deal, which starts with this week’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers, will see the sportsbook offer fans engaging pregame content and unique betting offers throughout the season. Stephanie Sherman, chief marketing officer of DraftKings, said: “The NFL season is the most active time of year for our customers, so collaborating with one of the world’s leading technology brands to offer engaging content to viewers of TNF on Prime Video is a tremendous opportunity for DraftKings.”
Danielle Carney, head of NFL sales at Amazon Ads, added: “We are thrilled to collaborate with DraftKings to bring fans more insights and excitement as part of the TNF viewing experience. “DraftKings content will contribute to lively pregame discussions, fan engagement, and, perhaps, some bold predictions from our on-air talent.” This is the latest deal DraftKings has penned following its recent partnership with DJ Steve Aoki for NFT brand ambassadorship.

GiG receives Pennsylvania authorization
Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) received “interim authorisation” and will make a move into Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) granted allowance to do business as an interactive gaming manufacturer. PGCB provides access to one of the United States’ larger iGaming and sports betting markets
The Keystone State is the latest US jurisdiction to give GiG the green light to supply its player account management (PAM) and sportsbook software. While this remains low as a percentage of the Keystone State’s total gaming revenue, it represents a 28% year-on-year increase. What’s more, iGaming revenue amounted to $98.6m, an 11% increase.
Claudio Caruana, General Counsel for GiG, said “The addition of a Pennsylvania authorization to our ever-expanding list of supported markets is a testament to the focus that GiG has placed on regulated markets which we strongly believe underpins sustainable and prosperous growth within the online gaming industry,” Caruana remarked. “Pennsylvania will play a key role in our plans for expansion in North America, and we are delighted to power our partners with our award-winning technology in the region.”
These news came soon after the company confirmed that it has launched with PlayStar in New Jersey, helping the casino brand break ground into the Garden State and also launch with one of the leading platforms in the industry.
To add, GiG currently serves 26 regulated markets, and said nine more are “in the pipeline.” Elsewhere in the US, GiG recently finalized a deal with Crab Sports. The company also published its Q2 results last month, reporting a 37% rise in revenue.
Former DraftKings SVP joins NFT platform pink.gg as a chief revenue officer
Jeffrey Haas, former senior vice president of international strategy at DraftKings, has been hired as chief revenue officer (CRO) of blockchain technology and media company Pink.gg.
What is Pink.gg?
So what is pink.gg you might ask? It is a technology company focusing on the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) space. Over 90 million NFT assets have been created on our platform, which regularly attracts 50k+ sales daily. Pink.gg owns and operates the NFT marketplace AtomicHub.io. It describes itself as the largest NFT marketplace in the world by daily transaction volume. There are more than 50k sales per day and more than $500m in NFTs sold to date.
As Pink.gg’s first CRO, Haas said that he expects the role to be “a fun, fascinating and educational ride.” Writing on LinkedIn, Haas noted that earlier this year, he met Pink.gg founders Jona Wilmsmann and Fabian Emilius, who impressed him with “their product and technology acumen, sincerity and vision.” Pink.gg CRO Jeffrey Haas: “Their story is a rare European take on the Silicon Valley founder origin myth: two friends who dropped out of the Technical University of Munich to build something cool, which grew and grew and grew.”
“They created AtomicAssets, an open source NFT standard, and then the AtomicMarket, a shared-liquidity NFT market smart contract.” Since then, AtomicHub has processed more than $500m in NFT transactions. This results from its focus on low-cost, high-volume game items, collectibles, and creative arts. You can collect and trade NFTs every day around the world.
Commenting on the future of the NFT industry, he said: “We are still at the beginning of a movement. And that we will fundamentally change they way we play games online.” He also highlights that “it’s a contrarian perspective for me to jump into an industry where media headlines two weeks ago shouted that NFT trading is reportedly down 99% since May.”
